World War II
It started with Germany's invasion of Poland in September 1939 and ended six years later with Japan signing the surrender on the deck of the USS Missouri. In between came the deadliest conflict in history, with nearly every country in the world pulled into it. This hub works through it theater by theater, from the Normandy beaches and the Eastern Front to Midway and Iwo Jima, with room for the codebreakers at Bletchley Park and the people back home with ration books.
