Outer Banks
Two hundred miles of sand sit between the sounds and the Atlantic, and most of it is on the move. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse had to be moved 2,900 feet inland in 1999. Oregon Inlet has crept two miles south since a hurricane opened it in 1846, and Ocracoke still has no bridge at all. These eight games cover the lighthouses and the lifesavers, the Lost Colony and Blackbeard, the wild horses, the storms, and every village from Corolla to Ocracoke.
